The wealth of India’s Richest Woman Surpasses Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani’s Growth

Savitri Jindal, the chairperson of OP Jindal Group, has witnessed the most significant surge in net worth among Indians in the past year, surpassing industry giants like Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, according to reports citing the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

As of now, Savitri Jindal, India’s wealthiest woman and the fifth-richest individual in the country, boasts a fortune of approximately $25 billion. Her wealth soared by $9.6 billion in the last calendar year, outpacing Wipro’s Azim Premji, whose net worth stands at nearly $24 billion.

In contrast, Mukesh Ambani, holding the highest net worth among Asians, experienced an increase of almost $5 billion, bringing his total wealth to $92.3 billion.

Savitri Jindal, the chairperson of the OP Jindal Group, established by her late husband, OP Jindal, has a conglomerate that oversees listed companies such as JSW Steel, Jindal Steel & Power, JSW Energy, JSW Saw, Jindal Stainless, and JSW Holdings. Notably, industrialist Sajjan Jindal, one of her four sons, is currently facing allegations of rape, which he vehemently denies.

Other notable figures in India’s wealth landscape include HCL’s Shiv Nadar, who secured the second position by adding around $8 billion in the past year. Additionally, DLF’s KP Singh saw growth of $7 billion, while Kumar Mangalam Birla and Shapoor Mistry each gained $6.3 billion. The list of top gainers also features Dilip Shanghvi, Ravi Jaipuria, MP Lodha, and Sunil Mittal, among others.

Conversely, Gautam Adani was the only Indian whose net worth declined, dropping by $35.4 billion to $85.1 billion. Despite this decrease, Adani retains the position of the second-richest Indian, trailing behind Mukesh Ambani.
