After a hiatus of four years since her 2019 film “Suryakantham,” Niharika Konidela is set to return to the big screen with the movie “WTF: What the Fish?” The announcement and first look of the film were unveiled on December 18, coinciding with Niharika’s birthday. During her absence from movies, she appeared in the 2023 web series “Dead Pixels.”
In the revealed poster, Niharika, portraying the character Asta Lakshmi, or Ash, walks in an adorned dress against the backdrop of a flashing dollar sign. Director Varun Korukonda, known as V, expressed excitement about Niharika’s performance, describing the role as performance-oriented and character-driven.
There were speculations about Niharika replacing Manchu Manoj in the film, as he had earlier announced his involvement in “WTF.” However, a team member clarified that Manoj has not been replaced and that Niharika and Vennela Kishore have been added to the project alongside him. Despite Manoj’s impending fatherhood, he is committed to completing his projects.
Niharika, who announced her separation from husband Chaitanya JV in July, has been in the public eye. The couple, who married in December 2020, decided to part ways mutually. Niharika’s brother, Varun Tej, tied the knot with Lavanya Tripathi in Italy in November 2023. Besides her acting endeavors, Niharika is also involved in producing projects yet to be released.
