Mark Zuckerberg’s $100 million Hawaii Project Revealed: A Doomsday Compound with Luxurious Features

Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly constructing a secretive $100 million doomsday compound in Hawaii, known as Koolau Ranch, featuring underground bunkers, opulent mansions, and self-sustaining amenities.

Wired magazine delved into property records and contractor interviews, uncovering that Koolau Ranch is one of the most expensive personal construction projects in recent history. Situated on Kauai island, the partially built compound will comprise over a dozen buildings, including two main mansions connected by a tunnel.

Inside Zuckerberg’s Retreat

The tunnel leads to a 5,000-square-foot underground shelter with an escape hatch reachable by a ladder, as per building plans cited by Wired. The shelter, secured by a “blast-resistant” concrete and steel door, includes living quarters and a mechanical room.

The compound boasts at least 30 bedrooms, 30 bathrooms, guest houses, and 11 “disk-shaped” treehouses connected by rope bridges. Security features like keypad locks, soundproofing, secret doors, and a multitude of cameras ensure privacy.

Beyond Luxury: A Survival Base

Koolau Ranch serves not only as a luxurious retreat but also as a potential survival base in the event of a global catastrophe. Wired reports the builders’ intention to make the compound entirely self-reliant, featuring a 55-foot diameter, 18-foot tall water tank with a pump system. The property’s 1,400 acres support ranching and agriculture activities, ensuring a sustainable food source.

Zuckerberg’s secretive approach involves a 6-foot wall surrounding the compound and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) for all workers. Having spent $170 million on the land, Zuckerberg considers the ranch his family home while keeping details about the project under wraps.
