Zomato partners with Zypp Electric to deploy one million electric scooters by 2024

Zypp Electric intends to deploy 1 lakh electric scooters for last-mile deliveries in cooperation with Zomato by 2024.

Zypp Electric, an electric mobility startup, announced on Tuesday that it wants to deploy one lakh electric scooters in conjunction with Zomato for last-mile deliveries by 2024.

As part of the agreement, Zypp will give delivery partners to Zomato for last-mile deliveries in several cities across the country, according to a statement from Zypp.

According to the corporation, approximately 13,000 of its electric vehicles are presently on the road as part of its sustainable transportation plan, and it hopes to dramatically reduce carbon emissions by up to 35 million kg.

It added that the goal is to achieve more than one crore green deliveries by EVs by 2024.

According to Zypp, this affiliation is part of Zomato’s bigger ambition to go 100% electric by 2030 as part of its commitment to “The Climate Group’s EV100” campaign.

“Food delivery is all on two wheels and mostly runs on gasoline, but we want to switch to EVs to save money.” “We aim to create a more efficient, sustainable, and customer-centric delivery experience by leveraging our EV fleet management technology and innovative partner solutions,” stated Tushar Mehta, co-founder and COO of Zypp Electric.

According to him, Zypp intends to promote growth and expansion into numerous countries, and that “our approach will empower gig workers and provide them with exciting earning opportunities.”

Currently, the e-mobility platform serves roughly 50 clients, including aggregators and e-commerce sites. “Through this collaboration, we will be able to significantly reduce our carbon footprint and provide more sustainable last-mile delivery options to our customers.” “We look forward to collaborating to create more efficient and environmentally friendly deliveries,” said Mohit Sardana, Zomato’s COO for food delivery.
