Why #BoycottMamaEarth is in trending on Twitter, have a look at the truth?

Bollywood actress Richa Chadha on Thursday was slammed on social media for allegedly mocking the Indian Army over its remark on POK. Richa Chadha’s three-word tweet apparently mocked the Indian Army’s top commander’s remarks where he talked about taking Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir back, by bringing the reference of the Galwan clash with the Chinese troops back in 2022. After her tweet, Chadha was slammed by almost every section of society. As a result, she issued a public apology stating that she herself belongs to a family of an Armyman and that she would never mock the Indian Armed Forces. While most people slammed Richa Chadha on Twitter, there were a few who tried to bring out the meaning of what the actress meant and not mocked the Indian Army. One of them was Mamaearth. For the unversed, Mamaearth is an Indian beauty product brand with Varun Alagh and Ghazal Alagh among its founding members.

Mamaearth got the media limelight after Ghazal Alagh appeared in the Shark Tank India show as one of the sharks. Now the question arises why #BoycottMamaEarth is trending on Twitter? Apparently, MamaEarth took to its Twitter handle and wrote that they do not support the mocking of the Indian Army. However, the beauty product brand further wrote that the word ‘Galwan Says Hi’ is not conclusive and we interpret this a recall of the upper hand the Indian Army had in such tough terrain and even being outnumbered at the standoff

However, the tweet did not go well with the netizens and the boycott trend started against the company.

Here’s what netizens have to say

A user wrote, “I am throwing all products I am using of Mamaearth if they are unable to find any offense in that tweet. Then here we are with our reply.”
