When Nikhil Chinapa discloses his Roadies salary, a Redditor comments, “Please stop belittling MTV pay.”

In a recent AMA session, Nikhil Chinapa discussed how much money he made as an MTV Roadies judge. On the final day, he claimed, he was given a broom and instructed to clean up.

Nikhil Chinapa, a VJ and DJ, has played a significant role in MTV programs including Splitsvilla and MTV Roadies. Nikhil revealed a number of details regarding his time on MTV Roadies during a recent AMA (ask me anything) session on Reddit. In seasons 4, 5, and 7, he co-judged the program with Raghu Ram. Beginning with the 13th season, Nikhil appeared on the reality program as a gang leader alongside Rannvijay Singha, Prince Narula, and others.

Nikhil Chinapa here, he wrote on Reddit on Wednesday. In addition to being that MTV guy, I’m an initiator, a disruptive influence, a DJ, a festival curator, a scuba diver, and a diver. Any questions? Some referred to him as a “legend,” claimed to have a crush on him, and thanked him for “the memories,” but others posed serious inquiries to Nikhil.

“Hey Nikhil bhai (brother), how much did Roadies pay per episode to the judges and contestants?” a redditor enquired. We are paid with cheese sandwiches, Nikhil responded. Last season, I had 5 sandwitches. When someone else interjected and made a joke, “As someone who has worked for MTV, please stop belittling MTV pay,” he continued. On the final day of the shoot, they also handed us vada pav. Nikhil responded, “On the last day, they gave me a broom and instructed me to clean up. I was fortunate. The toilet brush was obtained by Cyrus (perhaps Cyrus Broacha or Cyrus Sahukar).

Nikhil responded, “I used to hate doing the round-table chats with everyone,” when asked what he would alter about Roadies. A sponsor had committed to it. “Why did you guys bully people on Roadies?” a different Redditor questioned the former Roadies judge. Was everything pre-planned, or were you guys just playing tough? There were some real persons with whom you guys had really poor interactions! Was everything preplanned?

Nikhil replied, “It wasn’t scripted, but the goal of the show was to put individuals under pressure (sometimes over absurd or unreasonable themes) to see how they’d react. If you couldn’t handle the pressure at the auditions, you wouldn’t be able to do it on the show because the main show was actually even tougher. How much of MTV Roadies is scripted, inquired another. I mean, really.” Nikhil answered, “Can I be honest with you? Zero.”

Nikhil Chinapa, who has also hosted reality competitions like India’s Got Talent 2, explained in a 2022 interview why he and the other two judges, Rannvijay Singha, Neha Dhupia, and Prince Narula, decided to leave the popular reality TV program Roadies. He’d divulged to Dainik Bhaskar I didn’t give up in Hindi. The format of the presentation was being altered. As you may have seen, the format of the show has undergone numerous alterations ever since it debuted. The objective was to make the former Roadies rival the current Roadies, eliminating the necessity for gang leaders under the new arrangement. The format of the program was altered as a result.
