At Tuesday’s (Monday night in the US) International Emmy Awards 2023, Vir Das and Derry Girls season 3 took home the International Emmy for Comedy. Vir received her second nomination for an international Emmy. The actor and comedian became the first Indian comic to win an award when he accepted the prize for his Netflix comedy special, Vir Das: Landing. At the 51st International Emmys, producer Ekta Kapoor received the International Emmy Directorate Award.

Ekta Kapoor on winning her first Emmy

The other nominees in the category were Billie Piper from I Hate Suzie Too and Connie Nielsen from the Danish project The Dreamer: Becoming Karen Blixen.
