Tory Lanez is currently incarcerated at North Kern State Prison in Delano, California, the scene of several prisoner homicides only this year.
As the 31-year-old was being moved to a state prison, a fresh mugshot of Canadian rapper Tory Lanez was made public. The rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, will continue to serve his sentence in this location for the shooting death of Megan Thee Stallion.
Five days after being denied bail, Tory’s fresh mugshot was made public. He appears lifeless and glum. In Delano, California’s North Kern State Prison, he is now being held.
According to TMZ, the prison is home to some 4,000 convicts, many of whom have been slain only this year. For the February murder of his cellmate Juan Villanueva, serial killer Ramon Escober was put under arrest. Juan had been imprisoned for serious child sexual assault. Additionally discovered dead in his cell was 25-year-old Ricardo Saldivar, whose homicide is currently being looked into by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Despite having an electric fence around its perimeter, stories indicate that several prisoners have escaped throughout the years.
Tory had asked Judge David Herriford to grant him bail so that he could live with his wife and son while his team prepared his appeal, but the judge turned down the request. David emphasised that his choice was influenced by Tory’s violent felony conviction, history of disobeying court orders, and foreign citizenship.
The court reportedly added, “You were convicted of a violent felony,” as reported by the Daily Mail. You’ve a track record of disobeying court orders.You also don’t have U.S. citizenship.
Five weeks after being given a 10-year sentence, Tory was denied bail. He shot Megan in the feet during an altercation in 2020, and a jury unanimously found him guilty of three firearms offences in December.
Tory entered a not guilty plea to three counts, including assault with a semi-automatic weapon, keeping a loaded, unregistered weapon in a moving vehicle, and careless gun discharge.
Megan Thee Stallion was shot.
Before the incident, Megan and Tory shared a number of TikTok and Instagram Lives together. The two went to a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills residence in July 2020. They were apparently travelling in an SUV with Megan’s longtime friend Kelsey Harris after leaving the party late at night.
Prosecutors claim that Megan and Tory got into a heated altercation after Megan disparaged his rap abilities. When Tory allegedly fired at her foot, she allegedly demanded to be allowed out of the vehicle.
Before being sentenced to prison last month, Tory urged the judge not to do so. “We lost both of our mothers,” he continued. We would stay there and drink ourselves to unconsciousness.
“That night, everyone was intoxicated, and I made some extremely immature comments…I was mistaken. I would go back in time if I could.I’m sorry,” he continued. “There have been misunderstandings that I am this monster and don’t feel regret. But that is simply untrue. Everything I did that evening is my fault, I admit. I beg you to give me the chance to be a better mentor and father. I’m pleading with you to judge me on the whole of my life rather than just this particular incident. I certainly suffer from a disorder of habit, but I want to change.
