The launch of Elon Musk’s Twitter rival “Threads,” a new app from Meta’s Instagram, is scheduled on July 6. Users can sign in with their Instagram accounts.

The app market will soon be shaken up by Instagram’s Twitter rival. On July 6, Threads, Meta’s response to Twitter after the Elon Musk-owned platform forced users to look for an alternative, will be made available.

Days before its Thursday launch, on Tuesday, the forthcoming Threads app, which is linked to Instagram, was already present in the Apple app store. Meta has also started a website with a countdown to the launching of the App. There are other social media behemoths vying to dethrone Musk-owned Twitter, like BlueSky and Mastodon, in addition to Meta.

The estimated 250 million members of the social networking platform have been compelled to go elsewhere for a comparable platform due to Musk’s contentious management of it. Since the tech millionaire took over, Twitter has been steadily banning unpaid users from using a number of its functions, which has irritated its loyal users.

How do I use the Threads application on Instagram?

You can download Threads as a stand-alone application to your smartphone. Once installed, it will instantly connect to the Instagram account you are presently connected into.

The Threads app will then ask permission to communicate with your Instagram friends. If you don’t utilise this list, the app will suggest the Instagram individuals you interact with the most. Your Instagram friends list will then include the people on the list you create in the Threads app.

According to its creators, the Threads app operates entirely differently from Instagram Direct or Messenger. No one else is allowed to chat with you; only a list of your chosen Instagram pals are.

Why Twitter may be seriously threatened by Meta’s Threads?

There have been an unprecedented number of new Twitter alternatives since Elon Musk took over the firm. Over the past week, rate limit issues on Twitter have caused many users to switch to other networks. Later, though, they returned to the earlier app. Threads is anticipated to provide customers with more than any of its rivals have ever done. Because of its interaction with Instagram, users will be able to import their following lists and Instagram followers.

As a result, the app will already have a user base, allowing you to connect with friends you already have on Instagram. However, it is still too early to make any predictions about the app’s overall performance or the impact it will have on the Musk-owned platform.
