Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV was formally introduced in the Indian vehicle market on Monday, with a starting price of $7.46 lakh and a top-end Alpha Dual Tone with AT and a more powerful engine costing up to 13.13 lakh (ex-showroom). Maruti Fronx, a Baleno-based SUV, was initially shown at the Auto Expo 2023 in January and is now expected to assist the business grow its SUV line and capture a larger portion of the market.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx will be sold through the company’s Nexa retail chain, positioning it as a premium alternative to the massively successful Maruti Suzuki Brezza. But the Fronx isn’t exactly competing with the Brezza because it comes with a 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet, which makes a reappearance after first appearing on the now-defunct Baleno RS. Fronx is available in five broad versions, each with two engine options and three gearbox options.

Fronx is available with two engine options: a 1.2-litre normally aspirated petrol engine and the previously stated 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet. The 1.2 NA petrol engine is available with either a manual or an automatic transmission, while the turbo engine is available with either a manual or an automatic transmission.

Fronx is a well-equipped SUV, and while its cabin is nearly identical to that of the new Baleno, which will be released in 2022, it still stands out among its competitors thanks to features such as a Head-Up Display unit, a nine-inch infotainment screen, four speakers plus two tweeter setup, Suzuki Connect telematics, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, engine start-stop, cruise control, and front footwell illumination, among others.

Safety features of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx includes features such as a 360-degree camera, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, Hill-Hold Assist, and four airbags. The Fronx, according to the manufacturer, is based on the HEARTECT platform, which offers it a safe shell and structural rigidity.

Fronx is 3,995 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, and stands 1,550 mm tall. It had a 2,520 mm wheelbase. Its exterior style is similar to that of other Nexa models such as the Baleno and the Grand Vitara, with a wide front grille with a chrome bar, split LED DRL units, large wheel arches, and LED tail lamp units. Maruti Suzuki is offering accessories at an additional fee to enhance the vehicle’s cosmetic attractiveness. This contains, among other things, front and back skid plates with red inserts, side skid plates, front and rear bumper painted garnish, and ORVM cover.
