Shah Rukh Khan Receives Enhanced Security Amid Death Threats from Government

In light of menacing threats received by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan following the monumental successes of his films ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawan,’ the Maharashtra state government has granted him Y+ security. A formal complaint highlighting these threats was submitted to the state authorities.

In response to the government’s directive, the IG VIP Security has heightened Shah Rukh Khan’s security measures. Notably, this security service will be funded privately, with Shah Rukh Khan himself bearing the associated costs. He will be required to make payments to the state government for this purpose.

Y+ security is typically reserved for individuals facing a substantial threat level. It encompasses the deployment of six personal security officers (PSOs) working in three shifts around the clock, as well as five armed guards stationed at the person’s residence.

This move aligns with the security measures provided to Salman Khan, who received Y+ security due to threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Notably, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta recently lauded Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Jawan’ on social media and commended Khan’s resilience in the face of life’s challenges, including threats from criminal groups.

In the 1990s, a period when underworld intimidation of film stars was rampant, Shah Rukh Khan stood out as the only star who did not yield. He famously declared, “‘Goli marni hai mar do, par tumhaare liye kaam nahin karoonga. Main Pathan hoon (shoot me if you want to, but I won’t work for you, I am a Pathan).’ He remains the same today,” wrote Gupta on social media.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster thriller ‘Jawan’ recently achieved a remarkable milestone by grossing Rs 1,103.27 crore at the global box office, according to Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house behind the film. ‘Jawan’ was released globally on September 7 in three languages (Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu) and set multiple box office records. Notably, it became the first Hindi film to surpass the Rs 1,100 crore mark globally.

In a press release, the film’s creators disclosed that ‘Jawan’ earned Rs 733.37 crore in the domestic market and Rs 369.90 crore in the overseas market, marking its exceptional success. Shah Rukh Khan’s release, particularly in the Hindi language category, stood out with a net collection of Rs 560.03 crore.
