Gurugram-based motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has introduced the highly-anticipated Himalayan 450 adventure tourer, set to replace the Himalayan 411 in the company’s global lineup. The unveiling took place at the Motoverse 2023 event in Goa.
Variants
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will be available in three variants: Base, Pass, and the top-tier Summit. The Base variant features the Kaza Brown color, while the Pass variant is offered in Slate Himalayan Salt and Slate Poppy Blue colors. The Summit variant offers color options of Kamit White and Hanle Black.
Price
The ex-showroom pricing starts at ₹2.69 lakh for the Base variant, ₹2.74 lakh for the Pass variant, ₹2.79 lakh for the Summit variant in Kamet White, and ₹2.84 lakh for the Summit variant in Hanle Black. It’s important to note that these prices are introductory and valid until December 31.

Deliveries are expected to commence at a later date.
Powertrain
The Himalayan 450 is equipped with the newly-developed Sherpa 450 engine, a 450 cc single-cylinder, and a liquid-cooled unit, marking a first for Royal Enfield. The engine delivers a peak power of 39.4 bhp and a maximum torque of 40 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slipper clutch.

The motorcycle boasts a range of features, including an in-house all-digital center console with turn-by-turn navigation via Google Maps, Ride-By-Wire with two riding modes (Eco and Performance), switchable dual-channel ABS, all-LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts, a new joystick, and adjustable seat heights.
Rivals
In the competitive market, the Himalayan 450 will face off against rivals such as the KTM 390 Adventure, Triumph Scrambler 400 X, and Yezdi Adventure.
