Punjab’s famous actress Dalljeet Kaur passed away at 4 am on Thursday in Kasba Sudhar Bazar. Dalljeet Kaur once ruled the Punjabi film industry. She also acted in many hit Hindi films. 69-year-old Daljeet Kaur was ailing for a long time. Her last rites were performed at the crematorium of Nai Aadi Akalgarh.

Movie Career

Dalljeet Kaur had worked in more than 10 Hindi and more than 70 Punjabi films. Daljeet Kaur, she was a graduate of Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi, made her acting debut at the Pune Film Institute. Her first film Daaz was released in 1976. She played the lead role of the Heroine in the superhit Punjabi movies Putt Jattan De, Mamla Gaddal Hai, Ki Banu Duniya Da, Sarpanch, and Patola. After the death of her husband Harminder Singh Deol in a road accident, she stopped working in films. They did not have any children. In 2001, she re-entered the film world and appeared in mother and other roles according to her age. She played Gippy Grewal’s mother in the Punjabi film Singh vs Kaur.

She Used To Play Kabbadi

Daljeet Kaur was also a national player of Kabaddi and Hockey. She was suffering from serious mental illness for the last few years. Because of this, she came to Ludhiana from Mumbai and started living at a relative’s house in Kasba Gurusar Sudhar Bazar. He could not remember anything about her past life. In the last few days, she suffered a lot physically and died on Nov 18, Thursday.

Family Background

Daljeet Kaur’s family was originally a resident of village Etiana in district Ludhiana, but their business was in West Bengal. Daljeet Kaur was born in 1953 in Siliguri. She was living with her cousin Harjinder Singh Khanguda in Kasba Gurusar Sudhar Bazar for the last 12 years.
