In a recent media interaction, Rajinikanth confidently declared his belief that India will emerge victorious in the upcoming 2023 Cricket World Cup.
Following an intense semi-final clash between India and New Zealand at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, Rajinikanth, along with cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan, received the Golden Ticket from the BCCI. Upon returning to Chennai, the superstar shared his match experience and predictions with the media.
Speaking to news agency PTI, Rajinikanth admitted to feeling nervous initially during the tense moments of the semi-final. He said, “At first, I felt nervous. Later, when wickets kept falling, it went well. During those one and a half hours, I was quite nervous. But I am 100 percent sure the World Cup is ours.”
Accompanied by his wife, producer Latha, Rajinikanth, a passionate cricket enthusiast, had the privilege of witnessing India’s thrilling victory, securing their place in the World Cup final.
The star-studded semi-final was attended by various celebrities, including Madhuri Dixit, Dr. Shriram Nene, Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal, Kunal Khemu, Sachin Tendulkar, Kiara Advani, Sidharth Malhotra, and footballer David Beckham, who was on a three-day visit to Mumbai.

Before heading to Mumbai, Rajinikanth expressed admiration for the film “Jigarthanda Double X” in a social media post. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film’s unique storyline and outstanding performances left a lasting impression on the superstar.
In his post, Rajinikanth wrote, “Jigarthanda Double X is a Kurunji flower (a rare flower that blooms once every twelve years in the Western Ghats). Amazing work by Karthik Subbaraj, different story and plot. New scenes that cinema fans have never seen before. It makes us wonder if Lawrence can act like this. SJ Surya is the go-to actor today. He aptly mixes villainy, comedy, and character, and he is amazing.”
