Suryakant Tripathi was a famous Hindi poet from the Kavi Sammelan days. He was also known as ‘Nirala’. He was awarded Padma Bhushan in 1955 for his contributions to Hindi literature. A new research institute has been named after him ‘Suryakant Tripathi Nirala Rashtriya Samiti’. He was born on 22nd July 1888 and died on 5th September 1968.
