2. Befor his acting career what ronit used to do

Ronit was born 11 October 1965 in Nagpur and spent his childhood in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. But before acting, Roy tried his hands at hotel management and reportedly worked at a Mumbai Hotel where he allegedly did everything; from dish-washing to cleaning and serving. When Ronit came to Mumbai, it is said that he stayed at director Subhash Ghai’s house, who happened to be his father’s best friend. According to his interview in Bombay Times, Ronit narrated an incident from his early years in Mumbai. He was quoted saying that once he was narrating a scene to Madhuri Dixit and Subhash Ghai yelled at him in front of everyone, only to teach Ronit to first finish his own work before helping others, the report added.
3. Do you know Ronit wasn’t the first choice for ‘Jaan Tere Naam’

He also assisted Mansoor Khan and got his first big break as the male lead in the film Jaan Tere Naam as a lead actor. According to a report on Indiantelevisioncom, Ronit was not the first choice for Jaan Tere Naam as he had put on oodles of weight. It was only after they re-auditioned the actor they had originally cast that the makers felt something was wrong with him. Hence, Ronit replaced him. According to a report in Bombay Times, Ronit was offered his first TV role in 2001 by none other than Balaji Telefims.
4. TV world gave him a huge popularity more than B-Town

Ronit Roy struck gold by doing TV shows. The actor, who started out with Bollywood films, did not enjoy much success in the world of films. And like many actors, TV was a backup option. And this choice worked well in his favour. With shows like Kasautti Zindagi Kay and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, he went on to generate a mass following, becoming a hot favourite with viewers! 5. Ronit’s bussiness

The actor also owns a security business called Ace security and Protection for the past 10 years, providing security to Bollywood stars and production houses. Some of his clients include the likes of Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. These security personnel also travel with the stars abroad for their international shoots.
6. Best Supporting Actor Award?

Ronit has won a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor Award for his role in the critically acclaimed film Udaan. Ronit reportedly replaced Irrfan Khan on Deepa Mehta’s movie adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s book, Midnight’s Children, where Ronit essayed the role of Ahmed Sinai, the father of protagonist Saleem Sinai. He was also allegedly embroiled in a controversy when he was reportedly arrested by the Mumbai police for rash and negligent driving, after he was involved in a road. He was said to be returning from a Diwali party when car hit another on the road. However, he reportedly got bail after a few hours and was released.
