This weekend, the 21st and the second-final round of the Formula 1 season i.e. 2022 for the 4.309 km long Autodromo José Carlos Paes i.e. Interlagos Circuit’s flagship Brazilian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing have already won the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships respectively, with the race for second place in both titles.

If Verstappen manages to win at the So Paulo Grand Prix, it would be Red Bull Racing’s 10th consecutive win. However, Mercedes and Ferrari will be desperate to score maximum points at Interlagos as well. Lewis Hamilton was recently named an honorary citizen of Brazil, making it his second ‘home’ GP. Note that the 7-time world champion and Mercedes driver has yet to win this season.
As the table stands, Verstappen runs comfortably at the top with 416 points, while his teammate Sergio Perez is second with 280 points. Red Bull would like to see a 1-2 finish in the season. However, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is just 5 points behind Checo Perez, while George Russell is fourth with 231 points.
The sprint format will be deployed for the third and final time in 2022 at this weekend’s So Paulo Grand Prix. Formula 1 fans across the world as well as in India will be able to watch the race live on the Star Sports network.
