Shaniwar Wada

haniwar Wada a 13 storey palace of Peshwas was built by Bajirao-I, in the year 1736.It was head quarter of the Peshwas and it symbolizes Pune’s culture. The structure was built giving security the highest priority. The main entrance is known as ‘Delhi Darwaja’ & others have names like Ganesh, Mastani, Jambhal, Khidki.

Aga Khan Palace

Aga Khan Palace serves as a memorial to Gandhiji and his philosophies and is one of the top historical places in Pune. The samadhis (tombs) of Kasturba Gandhi and Mahadevbhai Desai are located within the palace premises. There is a samadhi dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi as well, where his ashes are kept.

Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir

In 1893, Dagdusheth Gadve, a successful sweetmeat seller (or halwai ), made an idol of Lord Ganesha on the advice of his spiritual guru, following the death of his only son in a plague epidemic. The halwai , who was known to have been admired by ‘Lokmanya’ Bal Gangadhar Tilak, built a second Ganesha idol in 1896.

Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum

The Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is in Pune, Maharashtra, India. It contains the collection of Dr. Dinkar G. Kelkar, dedicated to the memory of his only son, Raja. The three-storey building houses various sculptures dating back to the 14th century. There are also ornaments made of ivory, silver and gold, musical instruments, war weapons and vessels. 

Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park

The Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, commonly known as the Rajiv Gandhi Zoo or Katraj Zoo, is located in Katraj, Pune district, Maharashtra State, India. It is managed by the Pune Municipal Corporation. The 130-acre zoo is divided into three parts: an animal orphanage, a snake park, and a zoo, and includes the 42-acre Katraj Lake. 

Sinhagad Fort

Sinhagad, ealier known as ‘Kondhana’ is the most prominent and popular fort in Pune.It is located at village Donaje, taluka-Haveli. It is 25 km away from Pune on a hill 1290 m high. Tanaji Malusare-Chh. Shivaji’s trsusted and brave general,fought a battle here all alone with the Mughal army.
