After taking over Twitter Inc and terminating CEO Parag Agrawal, Elon Musk announced on Friday that it will form a content moderation council with “widely diverse viewpoints.” He declared on Twitter that no major content decisions or account reinstatements will take place until the council meets.

Elon Musk, Twitter’s current owner, has announced that the company is forming a council to make significant moderation judgments. Musk stated in a tweet on Friday that the “council” will have “widely diverse viewpoints” and that “no major content decisions or account reinstatements will take place until that council convenes.” Several hours later, he clearly stated his declaration with a quote tweet, saying, “To be super clear, we have not yet made any changes to Twitter’s content moderation policies,” as he rushes through the process of becoming a media executive.
According to media reports, the Tesla and Space X owner is anticipated to remain CEO of Twitter in the interim but they may ultimately relinquish the position in the long term.
“Comedy is now legal on Twitter,” he further tweeted.
Musk hasn’t yet provided specifics on how his content moderation council will function.
