One woman’s long-held fantasy has finally come true thanks to the Rockettes!

Silvestri mentioned during her visit to Radio City Music Hall that she attempted to attend an audition for the dance group decades earlier but was unable to get there.

She said, “I was meant to be here doing what you’re doing today, but I couldn’t make it.” As shown in video that the renowned dance company posted on social media.

She said, “I couldn’t travel to New York alone and nobody could take me. I’m here to visit you ladies today and I hope you’re all able to make it.

Prior to the audition, Silvestri’s family shared her story with the dance company, and according to rockette Amarisa LeBar, “We knew we had to be involved.”

LeBar explains, “We always love fulfilling someone else’s fantasy.

According to LeBar, Silvestri and her family were welcomed at Radio City Music Hall with open arms.

Later, LeBar and a fellow dancer had the chance to speak with Silvestri, and the two showed the 92-year-old how to pose for a picture while executing the Rockettes’ “iconic” bevel.

“To see the joy on her face throughout this experience was something that really touched my heart,” adds LeBar. I was pleased to take part.

Silvestri may be seen performing kicks in video from last week’s competition while donning a bib with the number “813” printed on it.

“We were honoured to create this magical moment with her,” LeBar says.

Mary gave some sound advice following the auditions: “Just keep moving, keep going, and keep going to dancing school,” she added. “Go through the motions and have fun. “Go through the motions and have fun. You must take pleasure in your work.

LeBar claims that hearing Silvestri’s tale has made her realize how “lucky and grateful” she is to be a Rockette.

She continues, “It meant as much to us as it did to her to see Silvestri realize her dream.” Mary’s goal was realized thanks to me, LeBar tells PEOPLE. “Seeing the effect we have on people around the world is always an honour.”
