Dayanand Shetty Clarifies Health Status of CID Co-star Dinesh Phadnis: Liver Damage, Not a Heart Attack

Recent reports about Dinesh Phadnis, known for his role as Freddy in CID, being hospitalized due to a cardiac arrest have prompted a clarification from his CID co-star, Dayanand Shetty. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Dayanand revealed that Dinesh’s critical condition is a result of liver damage, not a heart attack.

Addressing the confusion around Dinesh’s health, Dayanand stated, “Firstly, it wasn’t a heart attack; it was liver damage, because of which he was immediately rushed to Tunga Hospital, Malad. For the last two days, he has been very critical. Today morning (Sunday), I’ve also learned that there’s been no major improvement. We’re hoping he gets better soon.”

Dayanand elaborated on the circumstances, mentioning that Dinesh was initially undergoing treatment for another ailment, and the medication adversely affected his liver. He emphasized the need for caution when taking allopathic medicines, highlighting the potential risks and unexpected consequences.

Dinesh Phadnis gained fame for his portrayal of Fredericks in CID, a role he played for nearly 20 years. CID, featuring Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman, became one of India’s longest-running television shows, airing for two decades on Sony TV. In addition to CID, Dinesh had a cameo in the popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and appeared in films such as Sarfarosh and Super 30. The veteran actor’s health has now become a matter of concern for his fans and the entertainment industry as a whole.
