The Ayushmann Khurana’s Badhaai Ho clocked 3 years today on October 18 since its release on the same date. The actor says the film dealt with the sensitive issue relating to late pregnancy. This film will always be special to him because it was his first 100-crore superhit.
Ayushmann Khurrana has now been recognized as one of the most influential people in the world by TIME Magazine for his sartorial choices of films. To this, the actor further adds, “We wanted to show people why it’s not a big deal as we make it out to be. We wanted people to see this issue from a more inclusive lens and tell them that it should not be seen as taboo. That, to me, was the success of Badhaai Ho. My next line up starting with Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui also falls under this bracket and is a wholesome family entertainer as well.”
Ayushmann is deeply missing the late actress Surekha Sikri, a National Award winner
Ayushmann Khurrana emotionally says, “I’m also fortunate that I got to work with a towering performer like the late Surekha Sikriji in this film. She was a gentle soul with incredible depth as a human being and learned a few life lessons by being on the set with her. I miss her and I’m sure the industry misses her too.”
On the film’s 3rd anniversary, Ayushmann said: “‘Badhaai Ho gave me my first 100 crore superhit. So, it will always be a very special film in my filmography. I think I pushed the envelope a little bit further by choosing another script that was about breaking taboos that were not explored in detail. I wanted to tell the story of what a family goes through if an old-age couple somehow gets pregnant.”
