Bobby Deol Discusses Family Advice and the “Deol” Legacy in Animal; Ranbir Kapoor Adds, “Deols Don’t Die”

Bobby Deol, essaying the antagonist’s role in the highly awaited action thriller Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor, recently shed light on whether he sought guidance from his father Dharmendra or brother Sunny Deol for the character.

In the upcoming film Animal, directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy and featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Bobby Deol, the actor takes on the role of an antagonist.

During a media interaction in Chennai, a reporter inquired whether Bobby sought advice from his father or brother for the role. Bobby’s response, as per The Indian Express, conveyed his perspective on the matter.

“I don’t think my dad or my brother have done many negative things. But they have done a lot of action films. I have done a lot of action films in my life. My first film was an action film. It is a Deol thing; the Deols are known to be the action men,” shared Bobby. In a quick retort, Kapoor added, “There’s also this thing that Deols don’t die.”

Bobby expressed admiration for his father, acknowledging him as “the first He-Man,” and praised his brother as the “real action hero.” The actor expressed his gratitude for being part of the Animal project.

Speaking about how he landed the role in Animal, Bobby revealed during the trailer launch that he was playing in the Celebrity Cricket League when he had no ongoing projects. Sandeep approached him for Animal and showed him a photograph from his cricketing days.

“At that time, a photo was taken where I am seen in the distance. So, he showed me and said, ‘I want to cast you because of the expression in this photograph of yours.’ I thought, ‘Okay, at least the unemployed days proved useful.’ He had a photo of me from when I wasn’t working as such, but I used to play in the Celebrity Cricket League. He told me he wanted me in the film because of the expression that I had in the photo. He wanted me in the film. I thought good, unemployed days also turned out to be useful,” Bobby shared.
