Beware of Overzealous Manifestation: Study Shows Risk of Bankruptcy

Do you believe in cosmically attracting success?

Are you a firm believer in the power of manifesting your dreams and aspirations? The practice of manifestation, which involves channeling your thoughts and intentions to attract success, has gained popularity. It’s a process that hinges on the idea that positive thinking, visualization, and unwavering belief can bring your desires to fruition, effectively shaping your future.

Manifestation and the Law of Attraction

Manifestation is often closely linked with the law of attraction, which posits that like attracts like. By aligning your thoughts, emotions, and actions with your goals, you can supposedly manifest a more fulfilling life, career, or relationship, effectively crafting the future you desire through the strength of your thoughts and convictions.

Does Manifestation Really Work?

While manifestation proves effective for some, the results of a recent study might surprise you. Researchers from the University of Queensland (UQ) discovered that individuals who place great faith in their ability to manifest success are more likely to experience bankruptcy. According to the researchers, those who scored higher on the manifestation scale tended to perceive themselves as highly successful, possessed strong aspirations for success, and believed they were more likely to achieve extraordinary success in the future. Paradoxically, they were also drawn to risky investments, experienced bankruptcy, and held the belief that they could attain an unusually high level of success at an accelerated pace.

Study Involving 375 Participants

The study analyzed a total of 375 participants who were evaluated on a seven-point scale based on their responses to statements such as “I attract success into my life with the help of the universe or a higher power,” “My soul, spirit, or higher self helps me attract success,” and “The universe or a higher power sends me people and events to aid my success.”

Why Does This Occur?

Lucas Dixon, the lead author of the study, suggests that those who embrace manifestation tend to feel a heightened sense of control over aspects of their lives that are, in reality, unpredictable, such as sudden wealth or fame. Dixon explains that “manifesters have a stronger belief in getting rich quickly,” which may be linked to the fact that cryptocurrencies, known for their rapid gains, attract these individuals.

Overly Optimistic Outlook

“Manifesters seem to be overly optimistic, believing they are more likely to be successful in the future, in shorter timeframes, meaning they may overestimate the odds of success,” Dixon points out. While focusing on the positive aspects of one’s life can promote a sense of well-being and resilience, it might also lead to a tendency to downplay critical indicators of financial vulnerability, such as accumulating debt.

Manifestation Requires Action

It’s essential to understand that while thoughts and beliefs are influential, they must be complemented by real-world effort to achieve your goals. Neglecting to express gratitude for your current circumstances can hinder the manifestation process. Gratitude plays a pivotal role in attracting positivity into your life. Manifestation is a combination of mindset and action. To enhance your manifestation endeavors and achieve your objectives effectively, avoid common mistakes such as failing to define your goals clearly, dwelling on doubts and negativity, and expecting instant results. Manifestation is a gradual process that demands patience and trust.
