The BCCI, the world’s largest cricket organization, has increased the allowances for its office bearers, and these changes will become effective in October 2022.

According to a report by the PTI news agency, office bearers of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will henceforth earn a daily allowance of $1,000 (or around $82,000 per day) when on international tours. They will only be able to fly first class as well.

The increase in pay was suggested during the Apex Council meeting on Sunday, although it won’t go into effect until October 2022.

The per diem (daily allowance) has been adjusted after more than seven years.

The BCCI office-bearers once received $750 per day for travel abroad.

The BCCI’s office bearers, including the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and joint-secretary, will also be entitled to 40,000 per day for meetings within India and business class flights, per the PTI report.

For their “work travel,” they will receive $30,000 in payment. They can also make a reservation for a suite when travelling domestically or abroad.

Members of the BCCI Apex Council, including two representatives from the Indian Cricketers’ Association, will receive 40,000 each day for their quarterly meetings. For a global tour, they will receive $500 (or $40,960.75).

The board also modified the travel allowances for its state unit members, who would now earn $30,000 for domestic travel and $400 for overseas travel.

Each of the three members of the Cricket Advisory Committee, which selects the head coaches for the men’s and women’s national teams, will receive 3.5 lakh rupees as their meeting fee. They each have a right to $400 (or $32,768 a day) for this purpose, despite the fact that they are unlikely to travel abroad.

Notably, it is a privilege to hold office in the BCCI. A daily stipend of $650 (or $53,249) is given to the CEO and other highly compensated employees. on trips outside of India, as well as Rs. 15,000 per day.
