A 13-year-old Chinese child claims ownership and pays staff

According to a South China Morning Post report, a 13-year-old boy in China claimed to be the owner of a business and even to be in charge of paying the wages of the people who worked for him. The newspaper added, however, that this assertion conflicts with the country’s legal requirement, which stipulates that the recognized leader of a corporation must be at least 18 years old

In China, a video showing the youngster and his teacher speaking has gone viral.

According to a South China Morning Post report, a 13-year-old boy in China claimed to be the owner of a business and even to be in charge of paying the wages of the people who worked for him. The newspaper added, however, that this assertion conflicts with the country’s legal requirement, which stipulates that the recognized leader of a corporation must be at least 18 years old.

China’s most popular social media sites, Weibo and Douyin, saw 26 million and 10 million views, respectively, of a video showing a discussion on the incident.

A secondary school teacher from the Chongqing municipality in southwest China posted a video of an intriguing class project on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok. In the video, the teacher gave the kids homework that involved writing summaries of a classmate they thought was successful and accomplished.

Red Star News reported that the teacher was surprised when many students pointed out a child named Chen and asserted that he was already managing his own business. The teacher was taken aback by this discovery.

“What kind of business is your company engaged in?” the teacher questioned.

“Internet technology,” Chen retorted, adding that his business employs five to six employees. Chen also acknowledged that he had paid his workers when the teacher inquired about it.

The story cited a number of humorous user comments, one of which read, “He can apply for the Guinness World Record now as the world’s youngest boss”

Another comment stated, “When his customer asks his employees, ‘Where is your boss?’, they must answer, ‘He will come after school is over at 5pm.’”

This boss seems nice. I’d like to apply for a job with his company, so I’m wondering if there are any openings,” a another user commented.

The film, however, omitted any background information or explanations of how the adolescent managed to found and run a business with paid employees while continuing to attend school. The boy’s claims are being carefully looked into, according to the school administration’s response to the incident. He is categorically not the legal leader of a firm, and it is impossible for him to do that, a school representative was quoted by Red Star News as saying. We are still attempting to learn additional information.
